Privacy Policy

The short version: this is a personal portfolio. There are no accounts, forms, or ads. Analytics cookies are used only if you accept them, and your data is never sold.

Who runs this site

johnha.info is the personal website of Nguyen “John” Ha. For any privacy question, email johnha0912@gmail.com.

What this site collects

The site has no sign-up, comment, or contact forms, so it does not collect your name or email address. If you email me, I receive whatever you choose to send, and I use it only to reply.

Analytics (only with your consent)

If you choose Accept all (or turn on Analytics under Customize), the site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read. Google Analytics measures information such as the pages you view, the site that referred you, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city or country). This is reported to me in aggregate; I cannot see who you are.

With your consent, Google Analytics sets these first-party cookies:

  • _ga: distinguishes visitors; expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_F5CQP78SJK: keeps the session state; expires after 2 years.

If you choose Reject all, no analytics cookies are set. The site uses Google Consent Mode, so Google may still receive basic signals that a page loaded, without cookies or identifiers, which Google uses only for aggregate measurement. If you change your mind after accepting, rejecting removes the Google Analytics cookies from this site.

What is stored on your device

  • theme: your Light, Dark, or System choice.
  • cookie-consent: your cookie choice and when you made it, so the banner does not reappear for 12 months.

Both stay in your browser’s local storage and are never sent anywhere.

Hosting and other services

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may process technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and secure the site; see the GitHub General Privacy Statement. Fonts, images, and scripts are served from this site itself, apart from Google Analytics. Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, Instagram, SoundCloud, and other sites lead to services with their own privacy policies.

For how Google handles analytics data, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

Your choices

  • Change your choice any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
